Nationaal Comite 4 & 5 mei
Friday, March 3 (2017) the province hall of North Holland bathed in a glow of colorful light. A group of young people from North Holland, together with the LiGHT-UP collective, set out to project their stories about freedom on the façade. The action was prepared in January during a workshop day in the Fortress on the St. Aagtendijk in Beverwijk.
At the invitation of the province, young people from North-Holland started to ask what the language of freedom is for them. They were challenged to tell their story of freedom in the form of light art.
The photo and film images made on Friday of the light projections were on display from 24 March to 5 May 2017 in the Dreef Exhibition on freedom in Paviljoen Welgelegen.
Nederlands Film Festival
Saturday, September 23, 2017, the LiGHT-UP collective was rocking at the Dutch Film Festival and B.Y.O.B. in Utrecht.
At no less than 3 locations we provided part of the interactive projection craziness. Video ninja IZO made this nice compilation for you to enjoy.
Kudos for SETUP | MediaLab Utrecht, the heroes of the HKU Theater our own Stroombeestje and of course all the artists present.
See you next year!
Educational project "Vrijstaat"
What do you get when you provide the students of the Vrijstaat in Utrecht with LiGHT-UP's special light drawing technique?
After an instructive series of lessons, the students of the Vrijstaat (in the age of 8 to 14 years), in collaboration with the visual artist Jan Willem Campmans, created a special interactive installation. Traditional methods such as illustration and collage was combined with digital media like projection mapping, computer animation and gaming.
Result: a spectacular and interactive battle between fantasy flora and fauna created by kids.
